Why 810nm leds are widely used for red therapy light? What is its advantage compared with 850nm wavelength?
810nm is commonly used in red/NIR therapy mainly because it is close to one of the absorption peaks of mitochondrial enzymes (like cytochrome c oxidase). In simple terms, the body can "use" this wavelength a bit more efficiently, so the photobiomodulation effect is usually considered stronger.
Compared with 850nm:
810nm is generally seen as more "biologically active", so it's often used in more professional or medical-type applications.
850nm can penetrate slightly deeper into tissue, while 810nm is still deep but absorbed a bit more along the way.
850nm LEDs are usually more efficient and easier to get higher output, which is why they are very common in commercial products.
850nm has a faint red glow, while 810nm is almost completely invisible.

810nm is often chosen when the focus is more on therapy performance
850nm is widely used when efficiency, cost, and output power are more important
